CATCH

Humanely capture dogs in markets, parks, public roads. Take them to Sandhi-Fundagrat's "Kennels of Hope", where they will be evaluated and cared for a few days before being sterilized.

After the surgery

NEUTER

The dogs are sterilized, identified and receive the necessary care for a successful recovery in the "Caniles de Esperanza". If resources are available, they are vaccinated.

RELEASE

The dogs are returned to their original territory with a pink bandana that reads, "I'm sterilized; will you adopt me?",

The program ensures that territorial fights are minimized for the returning animals while sparing them the stress of adapting to new environments.

OVH

Neutering plays a critical role in controlling dog and cat populations, especially those without a permanent home. Uncontrolled reproduction leads to overpopulation, with numerous adverse consequences such as pressure on limited resources, health problems caused by malnutrition or the spread of diseases, and even aggressive behavior due to territorial disputes. At Sandhi-Fundagrat, we focus on sterilization as the main objective, directly addressing these problems.

Ovariohysterectomy (OVH) is a surgery that involves the surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus. This intervention prevents the appearance of breast tumors, as well as the development and treatment of diseases such as pyometra, metritis, neoplasias (ovarian, uterine or vaginal), cysts, trauma, uterine torsion, uterine prolapse, subinvolution of placentas, vaginal prolapse and vaginal hyperplasia , as well as viral uterine diseases such as TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor).

At our center, we consider sterilization to be a fundamental preventive measure to ensure the well-being of animals and control their populations. We work with professionalism and dedication to offer this service efficiently and safely.

Sterilization procedures:

One of our goals is to give homeless dogs and cats the opportunity to be sterilized to improve their overall health and quality of life, even if they return to the streets.

We know that these interventions are essential for animals who have no one in this world, as they help break the cycle of uncontrolled reproduction and prevent unwanted litters that would only increase the growing population of animals living on the streets.

By providing this important surgical service, we directly contribute to reducing overpopulation and alleviating the suffering of these unfortunate creatures. Together, we can make a significant difference in their lives.

Assessment:

Upon arrival, each dog is evaluated. This ensures that any existing conditions that may preclude surgery and possible treatment during your stay are identified.

Filling the Void

The creation of the Sandhi-Fundagrat Spay and Neuter Center for homeless dogs and cats and Caniles de Esperanza represent essential advances to address the urgent needs of the homeless canine and feline population.

The Sandhi-Fundagrat Sterilization Center will offer affordable sterilization services to the community and will also sterilize dogs that will temporarily reside at the Kennels of Hope, where they will receive pre- and post-surgical care.
